DONE DEAL: Arsenal complete £52million double deal

Arsenal have today completed the £52million double deal for striker Lucas Perez and defender Shkodran Mustafi.

The deals have been expected for a number of day after the Gunners agreed fees with the respective clubs late last week, but have been unable to finalise the paperwork due to the Bank Holiday in England.

Arsenal announced the signing of Perez from Deportivo La Coruna earlier today, who joins the club in a £17million deal after scoring 17 goals for the La Liga club last season.

Later on this evening, the Gunners followed the signing of Perez by announcing the arrival of Germany international Shkodran Mustafi.

The deal to take Mustafi to the Emirates has been long and protracted with the clubs unable to agree a fee for a number weeks. However with the deal looking on the brink of collapse, Arsenal all of a sudden massively upped their offer and agreed a £35million fee with Valencia.

The defender has signed what has been described as a ‘long term contract’.

In other Arsenal news, Callum Chambers has completed a season long loan deal to Middlesbrough.
