Everton left-back Lucas Digne has revealed that he has no regrets over leaving Barcelona for Goodison Park earlier this summer.

The 25-year-old defender moved to Barca from PSG in the summer of 2016, but he was never really able to dislodge first-choice left back Jordi Alba at the Nou Camp.

“In Barcelona I played 46 games, so I do not think it was a problem. I never regret my choice, I spent two years in the biggest club in the world,” he told Le Parisien.

Digne has played six Premier League games for Everton so far this term and he has revealed that he is really enjoying the physical demands of playing in the English top-flight.

“It is outstanding. The Premier League is great, with incredible games every week. I’m having a lot of fun, it’s going at 2,000 miles per hour. There are a lot of spaces, huge duels. Physically, much more effort is needed.

“In my first game against Huddersfield, I had cramps in the 75th minute. It has been years since I had had one. As for the statistics, I saw that I would run much more here.”

Digne’s decision to move to Merseyside was justified recently by his recall to Didier Deschamps France squad.
