Dias: I want to score more goals

Nottingham Forest winger Gil Dias insisted that he can continue to improve as the season progresses, as he aims to add more goals to his game.

Dias joined the club in the summer on loan for AS Monaco, and the 22-year-old has played five times in the Championship so far this season.

The winger has found the back of the net just once, in a League Cup tie against Newcastle United.

“I think I can do better,” he said to Forest’s official website. “As the games pass, I will do better and better to get to my top performance. I want to do more dribbles, score more goals and I think this is what is missing, more goals.”

Forest have won five of their opening 12 fixtures so far this campaign, and Dias insists it’s not been a bad start for Aitor Karanka’s men, and believes their ability to secure a positive result even when not playing at their best is cause for optimism.

“We haven’t had a bad start; we have had a couple of bad games but we haven’t been losing. That is important, when you don’t play well but you don’t lose the game. It is a good thing to have.’’ He added.

“I think Joao, Diogo and I are settling in now, we need time to settle in and we are starting to do that and getting to know the league.”
