Derby defender Tomori rues two dropped points after Middlesbrough draw

Derby defender Fikayo Tomori has expressed how disappointed he is that his side could only manage a draw against Middlesbrough this afternoon.

Derby had taken the lead early on through a George Friend own goal on 19 minutes, but surrendered the lead late when young defender Jayden Bogle scored a freak own goal.

With Frank Lampard’s men having given away the victory with just six minutes left, Tomori has said how disappointed he was with the result.

“I’m disappointed to drop two points really. They came with lot of power and long balls but I thought we dealt with it. For us to get a point – we have to be happy – but conceding late like that, we wanted three.’’ Tomori told Sky Sports.

Derby have been given plenty of plaudits for their style of play so far this season, with Lampard’s charges having beaten Manchester United recently.

But, County will be disappointed it is just one point, and not three this weekend, although they remain in the play-off places with the draw.

They face Birmingham City next weekend.
