Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud’s move to Chelsea is edging closer with the club’s now said to have agreed a £19 million fee for the France international, according to reports on Sky Sports.

The Gunner’s have already announced the £60 million transfer of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, and with Michy Batshuayi in Germany having a medical at Borussia Dortmund, it now seems that Giroud’s move to Stamford Bridge will finally bring an end to the bizarre striker merry-go-round that has dominated the headlines in recent days.
The 31-year-old striker is a perfect fit as the type of target-man forward, Chelsea manager Antonio Conte has been searching for all this month.
Giroud was a popular figure at the Emirates having scored over 100 goals for the club since joining from Montpellier in 2012. However, he has found game time hard to come by this season and is eager to move in search of first-team football, as he looks to secure a place in France’s squad for this years World Cup in Russia.
