Everton are close to completing the signing of Barcelona centre-back Yerry Mina.
According to Sky Sports the Toffees are expected to complete the signing of the highly-rated 23-year-old Colombia international before the transfer deadline at 5pm today.
Mina only joined Barcelona from Brazilian side Palmeiras last January for £11.8 million, but he has struggled to dislodge Gerard Pique and Samuel Umtiti at the heart of the Catalan side’s defence, making only six La Liga appearances during the second half of last season.
News of 6ft 5i centre-backs move to Goodison will come as a blow to Manchester United, who have also been heavily linked with a move for Mina over the last few weeks, with Jose Mourinho said to have been hugely impressed by his superb performances at the World Cup earlier this summer.
Mina will become the second player new Everton boss Marco Silva has signed from Barcelona this summer. having already wrapped up the signing of France international left-back Lucas Digne.
