Roberto De Zerbi would prefer to manage Tottenham Hotspur over Manchester United next season if the two clubs approach him over their vacant roles.
De Zerbi has been heavily linked with a return to the Premier League after leaving Marseille by mutual consent this month.
The former Brighton boss has been named as a potential candidate for both Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur, who are both under interim managers at present.
According to Sky Sports, De Zerbi would prefer the job at Spurs over Manchester United – provided the North Londoners are not relegated from the Premier League this season.
Spurs are currently four points above the bottom three and have appointed Igor Tudor as caretaker coach until the end of the campaign.
De Zerbi impressed during his previous Premier League spell, leading Brighton to European qualification for the first time in their history after a top-seven finish in 2022-23.
The Italian’s adventurous brand of football would appeal to a Spurs support who became frustrated at the pragmatic approach of Thomas Frank.
The latter was sacked earlier this month after a run of only two wins in 17 Premier League matches. Frank had been appointed from Brentford last summer.
