De Gea hints at long term Man Utd stay

Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea is planning for his future it seems, which looks to be at Old Trafford for the long term.

The Spain number one has been repeatedly linked with a move back to his home town of Madrid, with European Champions Real Madrid constantly being linked to the shot stopper.

He was very close to making the move to the Bernabeu two years ago, when the clubs agreed a player plus cash deal that would have seen current Real Madrid ‘keeper Keylor Navas move to Old Trafford. However, the move broke down at the last minute, with a fax machine taking the bulk of the blame for the paperwork not arriving on time.

De Gea immediately signed a new deal with the Red Devils to keep him at the club until 2019, with the option to extend it by a further years.

Reports in Spain have suggested that Real Madrid will once again try their luck at signing the 26-year-old next summer, but De Gea’s latest actions seem to indicate he is planning for a long term stay in England.

De Gea he just moved into a brand new, luxury £3.85m mansion with his girlfriend Edurne. The couple are initially renting the plush pad, with the option to buy it at a later stage.

A source told The Sun newspaper:

“They have only moved around the corner, but he will still have plenty of packing to do.

“He has numerous Man of the Match awards to ship and has hired local firm Osbournes to do the heavy lifting.

“It looks like good news for the club, and the fans should not be losing any sleep, he has long-term plans here.”
