Manchester City’s David Silva is in negotiations with Las Palmas regarding a potential transfer according to reports in Spain.
Elgoldigital claim that the long serving Manchester City playmaker is in discussions with the La Liga club regarding a possible move back to his native Gran Canaria.
However, there is no need to to worry yet for City fans, as these reports suggest that Silva is in discussions regarding life after Manchester City at the end of his current contract. That contract expires in June 2019, when Silva will be aged 33.
Silva has rejected moves to other La Liga sides in the past and has made no secret of his desire to play for Las Palmas. 18 months ago he said:
“If I go back to Spain, it will be to play for Las Palmas”
Silva moved to Manchester City back in 2010 and since then, has been one of the Premier League’s most delightful players to watch. The Spaniard has made 306 appearances, scoring 51 goals for the Citizens, as well as 113 appearances for his country for who he has scored 32 times.
He is currently preparing for another Premier League campaign which gets underway on Saturday evening, as Manchester City travel to Premier League newcomers, Brighton & Hove Albion.
