Chelsea defender David Luiz reckons there is very little chance that his fellow Brazilian Willian will depart Stamford Bridge during this transfer window because ‘he loves Chelsea.’

Willian was known to be unsatisfied in West London under previous Blues manager Antonio Conte and the 29-year-old has been heavily linked with moves to Manchester United, Real Madrid and Barcelona this summer.

However, Luiz has revealed that his childhood friend “loves Chelsea” and unless something drastic happens he expects he will remain at Stamford Bridge for the upcoming Premier League season.

“He’s a fantastic player and a fantastic friend.

“I’ve known Willian a long time – since I was eight. He loves Chelsea – he played at Wembley [in the Community Shield] after the World Cup, he already showed his quality.

“Since the beginning, he told me he loved Chelsea. To leave, he would have to do something totally out of reality or if Chelsea really wanted to kick him out.

“But this is not the reality – Chelsea loves Willian, and Willian loves Chelsea, so that’s great.”
