David Luiz says he believes he will still be a Chelsea player next season.
The Brazilian defender is out-of-contract at the season’s end, with the club and player in discussions regarding an extension.
Luiz has been a key figure for Maurizio Sarri’s side this season, having helped the club secure a top-four finish and progress to the Europa League final.
The 32-year-old has hinted he is poised to sign a new deal at Stamford Bridge, saying his Chelsea future will be decided in the next five days.
“Yes I think I will be here for next season,” Luiz said.
“I live in this club, so I come here every single day. Soon everybody is going to know. It will be before the Europa League Final – in five days.
“I love this club. My great moments in football were here, especially the European titles – the Champions League and Europa League.
“My relation with the fans has always been great since the first day I played here. I just try to my best and make them happy. Nobody wants to play in an empty stadium, when you have an opportunity to understand that we play for them.”
