West Brom coach Darren Moore has revealed that his players will need to play to their best to get a positive result in their game against Blackburn Rovers this weekend.
West Brom have started the Championship season in fine form, and are 4th in the table in their first season back in the second tier.
But, Blackburn are just three points behind and could overtake the Baggies with a win.
“We will have to be at our best here tomorrow to get a result,” he told wba.co.uk.
“It’s a game where we’ll have to be on our toes and be guarded in terms of what of they have to offer, but also at the same time look to play an effective game.
“Blackburn will get the ball down and play and they have one or two players who are a threat and a danger.
West Brom are currently in the playoffs, but know one loss could be fatal to their chances of keeping pace with the league leaders, Leeds United.
Moore’s side were defeated 4-1 by Derby County in midweek, and the Baggies coach knows the impact a loss could have on the remainder of their season.
“When you’re winning games in this division you have more games to keep up the momentum going, if you slip up you have a game within two or three days to get a performance and try to get the right result.
But, the manager believes Saturday’s game could be an ideal opportunity to get back to winning ways against a side who lost to Swansea City in midweek.
“We look forward to the game and we got back in yesterday to assess where the squad is at.
“Three points would be huge, whether the game was here or away.
“We go into every game with a view to win it. It’s not always possible to do so and it’s not always the case, but that’s the mentality and the viewpoint.
“We’re looking forward to it and we know it will be a tough game, a tough test, but every game in the Championship is a tough one. It happens to be Blackburn tomorrow.”
