Crystal Palace and Newcastle are among several clubs eyeing up a move for Besiktas striker Cenk Tosun.
The 26-year-old has already hit 12 goals in 23 games for the Turkish club this season, helping them to the top of their Champions League group and the Turkish Super Lig. Their 14 points in Europe this season was a record for a Turkish club, and was in part down to Tosun’s four goals.
Crystal Palace boss Roy Hodgson is interested in signing the striker to bolster his club’s battle against relegation, and provide more competition for club record signing, Christian Benteke, and sees Tosun as the ideal goalscorer to do that. The Eagles have scored just eight goals so far this season, but after their horrific start to the campaign, they have hauled themselves off the bottom of the table.
Newcastle’s Rafa Benitez is also looking to to sign the Turkish international in his bid to help steer the toon army away from the drop zone. The Magpies have scored just 14 goals in 15 Premier League games. Newcastle could offer Aleksandar Mitrovic in return with the Serbian striker out of favour under the Spanish manager.
However, the two Premier League clubs are not the only ones interested in signing the striker, with Real Madrid, Juventus and Valencia all having being linked recently.
