Cresswell: West Ham players are happy with current performances

West Ham United left-back Aaron Cresswell has said that him and his teammates are happy with their current performances, despite not getting the results that they want.

The Hammers lost their first four games of the Premier League campaign, but enjoyed a mini-revival in September, beating Everton and Manchester United, as well as earning a hard-fought 0-0 draw with Chelsea.

However, while West Ham are still playing some decent football, the arrival of the month of October has seen the results escape them, slipping to 1-0 defeats to Brighton and Spurs in their last two matches respectively to leave them in 14th in the league.

Despite these results, Irons full-back Cresswell has said that the squad are feeling happy about the way they are performing.

“We feel good about the way we’re playing and, especially with the effort the lads put in last Saturday, it was disappointing not to get anything out of the game, but we were happy with it performance-wise,” Cresswell told whufc.com.

“But the result is the most important thing and we didn’t get anything from the game, which was the most disappointing thing.

“Personally, of course it was good to be back in the team, but I know the season is very long with 38 Premier League games and four or five cup games as a minimum so, while you never wish anyone to get injured or play badly, on a personal note it was good to be back playing.

“I thought I did all right. Tottenham are a very good team and I just think that on another day we take one of our chances and it’s a different game. They had a little spell in the first half but, in the second half, Lukasz [Fabianski] didn’t really have a save to make and I think we were the better team on the day overall. We could have got the rub of the green on another day and got a point.”
