Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois has hinted that he would like a move to European Champions Real Madrid this summer.
The Belgium international’s current contract at Stamford Bridge expires at the end of next season, and with negotiations over a new deal at a standstill, it is now widely expected that the 25-year-old will leave the Blues during the current transfer window.
Real Madrid are currently on the lookout for a new ‘keeper and have been heavily linked with a move for Chelsea’s number one for some time now.
Courtois has two young kids who live in Madrid with their mother, so his admission that his children will play a major role in any decision he makes about his future is a clear indication that he would like to move to the Spainish Capital.
“I have a certain preferred destination.
“I have some ideas in my mind, but I’m focusing on the World Cup and have pushed all decisions ahead until after the tournament.
“My kids are the most important to me. I haven’t seen them a lot in the last 18 months. FaceTime is nice, but seeing them grow up is something different. My kids will play an important role in my decision.”
