As we reported yesterday, Chelsea look set to press ahead with plans to sell Brazilian centre-back David Luiz in January.
Antonio Conte has given the green light to the sale of the player, and then wants to reinforce his defence with Juventus left-back Alex Sandro. Chelsea made several bids for the talented defender during the summer transfer window, but where unable to prise him away from the Turin giants.
Alex Sandro has enjoyed plenty of success in Italy, winning two Seria A titles since moving there from Porto in 2015. He is renowned for his pace and attacking ability, although he is also a solid defender. Conte is a big fan of power and speed down the flanks, so he would fit into Chelsea’s 3-5-2 system perfectly.
Luiz has fallen down the pecking at Stamford Bridge after a serious bust up with his manager. The 30-year-old is said to be keen on a move to guarantee first-team football ahead of next years World Cup in Russia.
Real Madrid are expected to bid for his services when the transfer window opens in January, and it looks like a move would suit both parties.
