Antonio Conte says that he is targeting FA Cup glory to make up for last year’s defeat in the final.
Conte’s side lost 2-1 to Arsenal the 2017 FA Cup final but have a chance to make amends after reaching this year’s semi-finals. They have been drawn against Premier League strugglers Southampton, where they are favourites to progress to the final, where they will play either Manchester United or Tottenham.
Despite having recently said he isn’t prioritising either the Premier League or the Cup, the Italian has admitted wants to make up for last season’s defeat:
“This trophy is very important for the country,” said the Italian.
“This season our target is to try to reach the final again, and last season it was a pity to lose the final.
“We are able to reach the final and we want to change the result compared with last season.
“We want to do our best in every competition, to give the best satisfaction to our fans.”
