Chelsea manager Antonio Conte has called on his club to resolve the uncertainty around the future of goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois and extend the 25-year-old’s contract as soon as possible.
As we reported earlier in the week the Belgian international has admitted that he is no closer to signing an extended deal at Stamford Bridge.
“I can say Courtois is one of the best, maybe the best goalkeeper in the world,” said the Italian. “And he is a player very important for Chelsea.”
“But the renewal of contract is a task for the club. He knows very well my opinion and my thoughts about him. He will be the best in the world.” said the Italian coach.
Conte is adamant that the club do everything in their power to convince the talented shot-stopper to put pen to paper as he believes Courtois will go on to become the best goalkeeper in the world.
Real Madrid and Juventus have long been credited with an interest in the player and will be monitoring events in London closely.
