Como meet English opposition for the first time on Wednesday, and the visitors are Manchester United, who have not won in six matches.
United are 13th in the Champions League league phase and Como 12th, both on three points. Como are one of four debutants this season after finishing fourth in Serie A, and their 13,602-capacity Stadio Giuseppe Sinigaglia staged its first Champions League match on 10 September. United were absent from European competition last season for the first time since 2014-15, and their only win since 10 September’s 4-0 victory over Sabah is yet to come.
Michael Carrick is under pressure after two wins from nine matches in all competitions, and said on Tuesday that he feels backed by the club. United are 13th in the Premier League with seven points from seven games, five behind fifth-placed Liverpool. They have lost only two of their last 16 matches against Italian opposition, winning 10.
