City rival United for £15million defender

Manchester City have joined Manchester United in the £15million race to sign West Ham United defender Reece Oxford according to reports.

The 17-year old is one of the most promising prospects to emerge from West Ham United’s academy in years, making his Premier League debut for the club last season, going on to make 12 appearances for the Hammers.

Manchester City scouts watched the youngster in England Under-19s recent match as they plan on making a move this summer, and beat their rivals United in the process.

Tottenham Hotspur are also interested in signing Oxford, who has just two-years remaining on his current deal with club.
