Chelsea today announced the £57 million signing of highly-rated winger Christian Pulisic from Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund.
Despite Chelsea confirming the deal today the 20-year-old American international will remain with Dortmund until the end of the season, before linking up with his new teammates in West London at the end of the season.
Pulisic has long been heralded as one of Europe’s brightest talents since making his debut for Dortmund as a 17-year-old and speaking after the deal was announced Chelsea Director Marina Granovskaia voiced the clubs delight at securing his signing.
“We are delighted to have signed one of Europe’s most sought-after young players.’’ Granovskaia told Chelsea’s official website.
“Christian has shown his quality during a fantastic spell in Germany and at just 20, we believe he has the potential to become an important Chelsea player for many years to come.
“We look forward to welcoming him to Stamford Bridge in the summer and wish him and Dortmund every success for the remainder of the season.”
