Christensen urges Chelsea to allow him join Barcelona

Andreas Christensen has told Chelsea he wants to leave the club to join Barcelona.

The Danish defender has been linked with a move to the Nou Camp in recent weeks, having found opportunities limited under Maurizio Sarri so far this season.

The La Liga champions are keen on a deal for the 22-year-old as they look to strengthen their defensive options, and are believed to be keen on a loan deal with a view to a permanent transfer in the summer.

Chelsea are believed to be unwilling to sanction the sale of the player, but after Barca’s interest, Christensen is said to be pushing for the move.

Spanish paper Sport have reported that a deal could be finalised soon for the centre-back, with Christensen desperate to join the Spanish giants.

Christensen was a regular under Antonio Conte last season making 40 appearances in all competitions, but has fallen out-of-favour since Sarri’s arrival last summer.
