He has been linked with move away, but has battled his way back to be a key player for Chelsea this season, but now Brazilian winger Willian has revealed which clubs he dreams of playing for.
The 29-year-old has been linked with a move to Manchester United in recent transfer windows, where he would be reunited with former Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho. However, despite enquiries from Old Trafford for the wingers services, and the player not being a guaranteed starter for the Blues, Chelsea were keen to keep hold of him.
However, after holding a Q&A session with a YouTube channel, Willian has revealed that he dreams of one day playing for Real Madrid or Barcelona, while also name dropping Paris Saint Germain. He said:
“I think they are the two biggest clubs in the world, Real Madrid and Barcelona. They are the clubs with the most visibility.
“It’s everyone’s dream to play for these clubs. Of course there are other great ones, like the one I play for, Chelsea, and PSG, other greats.
“But these two are different. These are two that everyone has the dream to play for.”
The comments come just days before Chelsea face Barcelona in the first leg of their Champions League last-16 tie at Stamford Bridge. However, at his stage of his career, it is looking unlikely for him to get his dream move to either of the Spanish giants.
What is more likely however is a move back to Brazil, a move he also admitted he is keen to make. He started his career at Brazilian club Corinthians and believes that his he will end his career back where he started it:
“Sometimes it comes in my head [to return to Corinthians].
“I would like to finish [at that club] and play at least one more year.”
