Willian admits he is ‘very happy’ in London amid Manchester United interest

Chelsea winger Willian has announced that he is ‘very happy living in London’ amid rumours linking him to Manchester United, Barcelona and Real Madrid this summer.

The Brazilian is one a number of key player to have been heavily linked with a move away from the Stamford Bridge club this summer, with Chelsea having missed out Champions League football.

Barcelona were knocked back with three approaches for the 29-year-old, before turning their attentions to sign Malcom from Bordeaux. Rumours in Italy last week claimed that Manchester United had agreed a fee, while reports in Spain suggested Real Madrid were also interested.

But speaking Brazilian news outlet Globo Esporte, Willian seemed to hint he was staying at Stamford Bridge:

“I am very happy at Chelsea and I am very happy living in London.”

Recently appointed Blues boss Maurizio Sarri recently said he was confident to keep Willian at the club, along with Eden Hazard and Thibaut Courtois, who have also been attracting attention from Real Madrid:

“It depends on the club so we have to wait but I am confident,” Sarri said.

“It is a pleasure to have Courtois, to have Willian, to have Hazard.”
