Bournemouth have not won at Stamford Bridge since December 2019 and have drawn their last two visits 2-2. Alex Scott, the midfielder who was linked with a move to Chelsea in the summer, is out with a thigh injury. Marcus Tavernier is the only Bournemouth player with more than one goal this season.

Moises Caicedo is available after a calf problem that has limited him to 14 minutes this season, with Xabi Alonso saying he is “ready to go”. Reece James, Cole Palmer, Joao Pedro and Marco Palestra have also been training and are ready, according to Alonso. Jamie Gittens (ankle) is out for a few weeks, and Emmanuel Emegha, who has yet to make his debut after a pre-season hamstring injury, has been seen back in training.
Bournemouth
Alex Scott (thigh) is out until at least November, joining Eli Junior Kroupi (foot), Julian Araujo (thigh), Justin Kluivert (muscle), Veljko Milosavljevic (thigh) and Amine Adli (calf) on the injury list. Lewis Cook is in line to replace Scott alongside Tyler Adams in midfield. Tavernier is aiming to score in a third successive league away game.

Bournemouth
Bournemouth have drawn three and lost two of their five league games under Rose, the latest a 1-0 home defeat to Liverpool before the break. They won 2-1 at Real Sociedad on their Europa League debut and beat Lincoln City 4-0 in the Carabao Cup. Their next fixture is a Europa League home game against Sturm Graz on 15 October.
