Chelsea are being linked with a deadline day move for Watford midfielder Abdoulaye Doucoure.
The Blues are in full-on crisis mode having dropped 10 points in their last seven games, with last night’s 4-0 defeat to Bournemouth their heaviest defeat in over two decades, and it also saw them fall out of the top four.
While Maurizio Sarri has criticised his players for their lack of motivation, there has also been criticism pointed in the direction of the Italian manager, who has persisted in playing £57 million summer signing Jorginho at the base of midfield, dislodging N’Golo Kante from his regular position.
However, Daily Mirror reporter Darren Lewis is today claiming that Chelsea are interested in signing Watford’s dynamic midfielder Abdoulaye Doucoure, who has attracted the attentions of a number of clubs in recent months, with Everton and PSG being most strongly linked.
The Frenchman has previously expressed his desire to play for the Ligue 1 champions, but the report says that the Stamford Bridge outfit ‘are big fans’ of the 26-year-old as they look to replace Cesc Fabregas.
However, with just 10 hours to go in the transfer window, we here at The Football Faithful would be very surprised if any move for Doucoure materialises.
