Chelsea told to pay £52m to sign Juventus defender

Chelsea will have to pay £52million if they want to sign Juventus full-back Alex Sandro.

The West London club are looking to strengthen their squad this summer ahead of a much busier fixture schedule next season, and wasn’t to add a new left-back/wing-back to their ranks.

They have looked at Southampton’s Ryan Bertrand and Monaco’s Benjamin Mendy, but Antonio Conte really wants to sign Alex Sandro.

However, Juventus do not want to sell the Brazilian who still has three-years remaining in his deal at the Turin Stadium. According to the London Evening Standard, the  Italian champions will therefore demand a minimum of £52m.

Chelsea are also interested in Sandro’s Juventus teammate Leonardo Bonucci. Antonio Conte was linked with a move to sign the Italian last summer, but a move never materialised. With John Terry having now left the club, Chelsea are in the market for a new centre-back. They are also interested in Southampton’s Virgil van Dijk, and were given a boost last week when Liverpool pulled out of a deal to sign the Dutchman following their tapping up scandal.
