Antonio Conte’s reunion with Juventus defender Leonardo Bonucci is under threat following interest from Barcelona.

Reports from Tuttosport in Italy claim that Barcelona would be most likely to tempt Bonucci away from Juventus.

Chelsea were thought to be favourites with Conte keen on linking up with the defender again. The Premier League champions are searching for a John Terry replacement and had Bonucci earmarked to take over.

Now that Barcelona have joined the race to sign the centre back, the Blues are set to miss out. Premier League rivals Manchester City were also reportedly interested in the Italian international.

The Serie A club do not wish to sell Bonucci. However, if the player asks for a transfer, they would be prepared to enter negotiations. The fee would be around £60m, great business for Juventus considering Bonucci turned 30 in May.

Chelsea are however believed to be close to signing Antonio Rudiger from fellow Italian club AS Roma for around €33m.
