Chelsea have emerged as the only Premier League club likely to rival Manchester United for the signature of Real Madrid superstar Gareth Bale.
Bale came off the bench to score a match winning brace in last weekendโs Champions League final against Liverpool, with his second goal a acrobatic bicycle kick widely regarded as the greatest goal ever scored in a major European final.
However, speaking just minutes after the game the Wales international revealed his frustration at a lack of game time with the Spanish giants and admitted he will have to consider his future this summer, which many interpreted as a ”come and get me,” plea to Premier League clubs.
The 28-year-old has been perennially linked with a move to Manchester United since he left English football in 2013, but according to the Daily Mail Chelsea are also interested in securing the services of the talented attacker.
Any deal to sign deal with involve an astronomical transfer and wage package, although whichever Premier League club does win the battle for his signature will surely have the best chance of catching Pep Guardiolaโs Man City next season.
