Chelsea target Manchester United man

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho won’t have been expecting a phone call from his former employers Chelsea any time soon, however according to The Sun, Antonio Conte could be preparing a move for a Manchester United star.

Conte will arrive at Stamford Bridge this summer after his role with the Italian is concluded, and will immediately get to work on rebuilding the fortunes of the club, who earned the unwanted title of worst defending Premier League champions last season following their tenth placed finish.

One of Conte’s first targets according to the newspaper will be Manchester United full-back Matteo Darmian. The 26-year old is currently part of Italy’s Euro 2016 squad that got their campaign underway with a 2-0 victory over Belgium.

Darmian moved to Old Trafford last summer after a £12million move from Torino, but has been linked with a move back to Italy with Serie A champions Juventus. However with Conte’s arrival at Chelsea, and his knowledge of Darmians abilities could see the versatile defender remain in the Premier League.
