Chelsea’s long and protracted attempt to re-sign Romelu Lukaku could pave the way for one of Chelsea’s main strikers to leave the club.

Diego Costa has been strongly linked with a move to his former club Atletico Madrid all summer, after the striker saw a dip in form last season, scoring just 16 goals in 41 appearances.

Chelsea have been resolute in their attempts to keep Costa at the club, but in a strange twist, reports in Italy’s Corrierre dello Sport claim that Chelsea have offered Inter Milan and Napoli the chance to sign the striker.

Napoli are still getting over the departure of Gonzalo Higuain who joined Juventus, whilst Mauro Icardi could be about to leave Inter Milan with a number of clubs around Europe, including Arsenal, interested in signing the Argentinian.

Chelsea are believed to have offered Everton £65million, plus TWO players for the services of Romelu Lukaku.
