Chelsea midfielder Nemanja Matic wants to be reunited with Jose Mourinho at Manchester United according to reports.
The Sun claim that the the Serbian midfielder wants to move to Old Trafford this summer to be reunited with the former Chelsea manager.
Matic is wanted by Mourinho, who is looking to bolster his options on the centre of midfield, in an attempt to release the shackles from World Record signing Paul Pogba.
Tottenham and England midfielder Eric Dier is believed to be Mourinho’s number one target, but is unwilling to pay Spurs’ £50million valuation. Matic would represent a much more attainable and less expensive option for the Red Devils.
Matic left Chelsea back in 2010 for Benfica before being re-signed by Mourinho’s Chelsea in January 2014 for €25m.
He was an integral part of the Chelsea side that went onto win the Premier League in the 2014/15 season in his and Mourinho’s first full season back at Stamford Bridge, and would like to be reunited with the Portuguese once more.
Chelsea have been linked with a move for Monaco midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko, which would potentially further restrict Matic’s opportunities.
