Chelsea star Ruben Loftus-Cheek is hoping his ability to play in multiple positions will help work his way into the plans of new Blues boss Maurizio Sarri.
Loftus-Cheek impressed last season with Crystal Palace, proving that he is more than capable of making an impact in the Premier League, and his showings in South London even forced his way into Gareth Southgate’s World Cup squad.
The 22-year-old has long been heralded as one of the most talented players to come through Chelsea’s youth ranks in recent years and many associated with the club are hoping that this can be his breakthrough season at Stamford Bridge.
“I’ve played in a few positions, mostly on the left of midfield [at Crystal Palace] last season,” he said.
“Playing in a 4-3-3 in an attacking midfield position is kind of my position really, my suited position, so hopefully I can bring my best football to the team.
“The boys are working really hard trying to understand how the boss wants us to play, on and off the ball, and it will only get better.”
