Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur are set to battle it out to sign Lecce full-back Patrick Dorgu.
The London rivals are tracking the progress of the Danish defender and each shortlisted Dorgu for a potential transfer in the summer.
Dorgu had a breakout season with Lecce in 2023/24, where he made 32 appearances in Serie A, scoring twice.
The 19-year-old earned his first call up to the Denmark national team this month and marked his international debut with a goal against Switzerland.
Dorgu took just 42 seconds to open his account, scoring with his very first touch after replacing Victor Nelsson.
Premier League interest in Denmark debutant Dorgu
Chelsea and Tottenham are each keeping a close eye on his development with the former having considered signing the left-back this summer, before sending Dorgu on loan to French side Strasbourg.
Fabrizio Romano has also revealed that Spurs held summer interest in the teenager as the North Londoners consider competition for Destiny Udogie. Ange Postecoglou could renew his interest next summer with Ben Davies out of contract at Spurs in 2025.
The deals for Dorgu did not materialise this summer due to Lecce’s valuation with the Italian outfit placing a €35m (£29.5m) price tag on the player.
