Chelsea have revived their interest in Bayer Leverkusen winger Leon Bailey.
The Blues faithful are still coming to terms with the loss of Eden Hazard, after the Belgian completed an £88 million move to Real Madrid last week, with the search for potential alternatives underway.
The West London club does have the option to ask CAS to freeze their ban whilst their appeal is heard, which would enable to club sign players during the summer window. They are currently banned from registering new players until the summer of 2020.
If that transfer ban is frozen or indeed overturned, the Daily Mail are reporting that one man who is being eyed up as a replacement for the outgoing Hazard is Jamaican born winger, Leon Bailey.
Having already seen Julian Brandt depart for Borussia Dortmund, Leverkusen could yet see another of their promising young talents leave this summer.
The Bundesliga side will command a significant fee for the youngster, who has scored 14 league goals in 69 appearances since joining from Belgian side Genk in 2016, with the report saying Leverkusen could demand a fee of around £80m for the 21-year-old attacker.
A plug for Frank Lampard to be the next #Chelsea boss and why they may defy all logic and win silverware next season even with a transfer ban. 🎧
