Chelsea are set to finalise a new long-term contract for Joao Pedro after rejecting approaches from three unnamed ‘top clubs’ for the forward.
Pedro is set to sign a new, improved contract that will run until 2033, just 12 months on from his arrival from Brighton. Chelsea are keen to recognise his impressive start with the club, after he scored 23 goals last season and earned the Blues’ Player of the Season award.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea have rejected three approaches from unnamed clubs this summer, with Pedro considered an untouchable part of the project. Chelsea are expected to announce Pedro’s new deal imminently.
Barcelona are understood to be one of the sides to have expressed interest, with the Brazilian considered an alternative to top target Julian Alvarez.
The Spanish champions have submitted an offer for Alvarez, though Atletico Madrid continue to insist that the forward is not for sale.
