Chelsea have pulled out of the race to sign Juventus full back Alex Sandro according to reports in Italy.

The 26-year-old has been linked with a move to Stamford Bridge since last summer’s transfer window, with a bid of around £60m thought to have been rejected by the Italian champions who were determined not to sell for any price.

That stance is thought to have softened though after the Brazilians’s form has taken a dip this season, and a bid of £53m was expected to be lodged by Antonio Conte’s side.

However, Italian website Calciomercato claim that the Blues have pulled out of the race to sign the left back, which will come as a massive boost to Manchester United.

The Red Devils are also thought to be keen to sign the defender, although with Ashley Young putting in some impressive displays, and Jose Mourinho seemingly starting to trust Luke Shaw a little more, the Manchester Evening News suggests that Manchester United could wait until the summer to make a decision on their first choice left back will be.

United have also been linked with making a £50m move for 28-year-old Spurs full back, Danny Rose.
