Brighton and Hove Albion are today set to announce attacking midfielder Isaiah “Izzy” Brown has joined the Seagulls from Chelsea on a season long loan, rejecting the opportunity to return to Huddersfield Town where he had spent the latter half of last season helping their ascension to the Premier League via the play-offs.
Izzy Brown had a very good season in the Championship helping himself to eight goals and five assists across his two loan spells at Huddersfield and Rotherham.
Whilst 20 year old Brown doesn’t add Premier League experience to the new boys from the South Coast, it is clear parent club Chelsea see him as a potential star of the future with him having signed a new contract before this loan deal was sealed.
With him having spent the majority of his career since joining Chelsea out on loan a decent season with the Seagulls could be invaluable in helping secure him a spot on the Chelsea team-sheet next year.
