Chelsea, Manchester United and Liverpool will compete for the signature of Brighton midfielder Alexis Mac Allister this summer.
Mac Allister is expected to leave the Seagulls at the end of the season and the Premier League trio are preparing approaches for the midfielder, who has emerged as a top target for rival clubs are his impressive performances for club and country.
Mac Allister has scored ten goals in 29 appearances across all competitions for Brighton this season, while his profile rose after a starring role in Argentina’s World Cup success in Qatar.
The 24-year-old started six of Argentina’s seven fixtures at the tournament as the South Americans were crowned world champions for a third time.
The Guardian are reporting that Brighton will ‘soon’ set their asking price for Mac Allister and are in a strong negotiating position after the midfielder signed a new contract at the Amex Stadium in October.
The player’s father, Carlos, recently revealed his expectation that Mac Allister will leave Brighton this summer.
“Normally the next [transfer window] will find him playing in another club, we don’t know which one,” he told told Puroboca.com.
“The talks are just beginning in general, but it is most likely that Alexis will already be playing in another team next July.”
