Chelsea boss Antonio Conte has tabled a £60million bid for Everton striker Romelu Lukaku according to sources in Italy.
The reliable journalist, Gianluca Di Marzio, claims that Chelsea have lodged the offer for Lukaku after failing in their attempts to sign Real Madrid striker Alvaro Morata.
The striker originally moved to Stamford Bridge in 2011 but made just 10 Premier League appearances before loans deals to West Brom and Everton, before finally securing a £28million departure to the Toffees in 2014.
Lukaku is currently enjoying a post Euro 2016 holiday in Miami, where he played basketball with Manchester United bound midfielder Paul Pogba, with whom the two players share an agent in Mino Raiola.
A potential arrival of Lukaku at Stamford Bridge could also pave the way for Diego Costa’s departure, who has been strongly linked with a return to Atletico Madrid.
Chelsea will also try to complete a deal for Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly or Kostas Manolas of Roma.
