With Luke Shaw’s Manchester United career seemingly in tatters, it is being claimed that Chelsea are leading the race to land him.
The full-back was hauled off at halftime during United’s win against Brighton on Saturday before being publicly lambasted by manager Jose Mourinho for his poor performance.
Sky Sports reported on Monday that Shaw is to consider his future at the end of the season, with Chelsea, Tottenham and Southampton all having being linked with having an interest in signing the 22-year-old in the last few days.
Now, according to the Daily Mail, it is Chelsea who are at the front of the queue to land his signature.
The Blues were of course interested in signing Shaw back in 2014, but he decided against moving to join Jose Mourinho’s Chelsea in favour of making the £30 million move to join Louis van Gaal’s Man Utd – despite being a lifelong Chelsea fan.
Whether Shaw would get more game time at Stamford Bridge is unknown, where he would be faced with the task of dislodging current first choice left-back Marcos Alonso.
Shaw is under contract at Old Trafford until 2019 but will not be forced out of the club this summer by United’s hierarchy.
