Chelsea’s N’Golo Kante admitted his team ‘suffered’ as they were made to work hard during their 2-0 win over Manchester City in earlier this evening.

Kante and his teammates came through a gruelling test to take all three points against Pep Guardiola’s City team and the French World Cup winner spoke about this after the game.

“They are a very good team. We suffered together then afterwards we didn’t give up and got the two goals. We are happy with the win.’’ Kante told BT Sport.

When asked about his goal, Kante gave the sort of modest answer we now expect from the former Leicester midfielder.

“The most important thing is to give my best on the pitch. I am happy to be on the scoresheet.”

Chelsea jumped back up to third in the Premier League after today’s victory and will be hoping Kante’s old team, Leicester, can do them a favour by taking points off of Spurs in tonight’s late fixture.

Maurizio Sarri will be a very happy man after Chelsea looked to be slipping into a bad spell of form in recent weeks with just one win in their four league games before today.
