Chelsea identify replacement as Begovic completes Bournemouth move

Chelsea have identified a replacement for Asmir Begovic who has finally completed a £10m move to AFC Bournemouth.

The South coast club completed the signing of Begovic after having tried and failed to sign the Bosnian back in January. Back then, Chelsea refused to do business unless they could find a suitable replacement. They were unable to find that replacement, and Begovic was forced to stay at Stamford Bridge for the remainder of Chelsea’s title winning campaign.

After finally being granted his transfer, Chelsea now have set about finding a replacement, and according to The Sun, they have identified PSG ‘keeper Alphonse Areola as a potential replacement.

The 24-year-old has fallen down the pecking order at PSG behind Kevin Trapp and is ready for a new challenge, and could be set to move to the newly crowned Premier League champions.

The keeper has made just 29 appearances in his five seasons at PSG. During that time, he has spent time on loan at Lens, Bastia and Villarreal.
