Chelsea are reportedly on the verge of securing a deal to bring Argentina striker Gonzalo Higuain to the club.
The deal is believed to be a loan swap deal involving unsettled forward Alvaro Morata, with the Spaniard heading to the San Siro to join AC Milan.
Higuain is currently on a season-long loan at Milan from Juventus, but a deal has allegedly been made to bring the 31-year-old to Stamford Bridge.
Higuain previously played under Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri during their time together at Napoli, with the forward equalling Gino Rossetti’s 87-year-old record of 36 league goals under the Italian’s leadership in 2015/16.
Sarri has been keen to bring a forward to the club, with Morata and Olivier Giroud having failed to convince so far this season. Eden Hazard is the club’s top league scorer with 10, and has been utilised in a more central role in recent weeks.
Italian publication Sports MediaSet claim a deal for Higuain has now been finalised, with the former Real Madrid forward having requested a move to London after five seasons in Italy.
