Chelsea have been given a big transfer boost in their hopes of landing Alex Sandro from Juventus according to reports in Italy.

The left back was heavily linked with a move to Stamford Bridge back in the summer, with the Blues willing to pay up to £50m for the services of the Brazilian.

Chelsea, and former Juventus manager, Antonio Conte was desperate to add new faces to his small squad ahead of a more congested fixture schedule. Sandro was identified as one of the main target to provide more competition to Marcos Alonso who played almost every game last season

However, the deal did not happen as the Bianconeri were unwilling to sell for any price and even offered to match the personal terms on offer from the West London club.

According to TransferMercatoWeb, Sandro has rejected the offer made by the Italian champions giving the strongest indication possible that he wants to leave.

Juventus have already started their search for the former Porto stars replacement, with Roma’s Emerson Palmieri a €30million target.
