Chelsea eye late move for Arsenal’s Aaron Ramsey

Chelsea are lining up a £35 million move for Aaron Ramsey according to reports today.

The Arsenal midfielder has entered the final year of his contract at the Emirates, and despite the Gunners thought to be keen to keep him at the club, no breakthrough has been found in their negotiations.

Unlike his former teammate Jack Wilshere, who was told immediately by Unai Emery that he was not a part of his thoughts for the first team, Ramsey is thought to be very much a part of the Spaniard’s plans.

However, according to the Express, Maurizio Sarri is keen on bringing the dynamic midfielder to Chelsea, and hopes to sign him before this Thursday’s transfer deadline by making a £35 million bid.

Liverpool have also been linked, but with Jurgen Klopp he has already signed Naby Keita and Fabinho to play in his midfield, as well as admitting that his squad is already too big.

The Blues have only brought in one new signing so far this summer, with Italian midfielder Jorginho following Sarri from Napoli, as Sarri tries to quickly implement his much heralded ‘Sarri Ball’ tactics upon his new squad.

The FA Cup winners get their campaign underway this afternoon in the traditional curtain raiser against Premier League champions Manchester City, before their first league game of the season against Huddersfield on August 11.
