Chelsea exits continue as forward nears RB Leipzig move

Marc Guiu is set to become the latest exit from Chelsea with the forward close to joining RB Leipzig.

Marc Guiu is set to become the latest exit from Chelsea with the forward close to joining RB Leipzig.

The Bundesliga side are close to reaching an agreement with Chelsea to sign the Spanish striker. The transfer is expected to be a permanent move with a fee unspecified, though it’s understood to be lower than the £25m asking price Chelsea set earlier in the window. The Athletic are reporting that there is an ‘expectation on all sides’ that a deal is completed.

Guiu played only 252 minutes of Premier League football for Chelsea last season, after being recalled from a loan spell at Sunderland. The 20-year-old had signed for Sunderland but was recalled after just two appearances, after an injury to Liam Delap.

The Spain u-21 international joined Chelsea from Barcelona for around €6m and is set to become the latest forward to leave this summer. Nicolas Jackson and Liam Delap have joined Aston Villa and Nottingham Forest respectively, both in club-record deals.
