Chelsea confident of completing £35m transfer

Chelsea are growing increasingly confident of completing the £35m signing of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain from Arsenal according to the latest reports.

The London Evening Standard claim that talks between Arsenal and Chelsea are ongoing for the player who has just one year left on his current deal at the Emirates.

Arsene Wenger is reluctant to selling the England International who he recently described as having the potential to become a ‘very great player’, but is prepared to sanction the deal.

No fee has been agreed so far between the two Premier League clubs, but the Champions are thought to be confident on securing a deal for around £35m, after receiving significant encouragement regarding the transfer.

Antonio Conte is an admirer of the 23-year-old, especially given his versatility. ‘The Ox’ excelled last season on a more central role, but was also utilised as a right winger and right wing back.

He even started Arsenal’s first Premier League game of the season as a left wing back.
