Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri reckons reigning Champions Manchester City and Liverpool are the two sides best equipped to win the Premier League title this season.

Despite his side starting their Premier League campaign in excellent form winning all four of their opening fixtures the former Napoli coach believes it will be very difficult for his team to make up the 30 points they finished behind Guardiola’s City last season.

However, Sarri remains hopeful that his Chelsea side can improve the longer the season goes on.

‘At the moment I can answer City or Liverpool. We need another step to be at the same level. I think this season is too soon, but I hope not. The gap was 30 points at the beginning of the season. to cover 30 points in only one season is very difficult.’ He told Chelsea’s official website.

‘We need to improve, and we can improve. My feeling is that now we are not a very solid team in the defensive phase. My feeling during training is that this team can improve.’
