Chelsea boss Sarri reveals ‘very positive’ Willian discussion

Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri has revealed that he has held a positive conversation with star attacker Willian.

The Brazil international’s future has been the subject of intense speculation in recent months, with Manchester United, Barcelona and Real Madrid all reportedly interested in signing the 29-year-old.

Former Napoli boss Sarri has been adamant that he would like to keep all his top players since he took over at Stamford Bridge, although he recently described Willian’s late arrival back in London for pre-season training as strange.

However, Sarri has now confirmed that he has held positive discussion with Willian, and that he expects the talented attacker to stay at Chelsea:

“I spoke yesterday with him about his lateness, not about his future.’’ Sarri said in quotes carried by Sky Sports.

“It was a very positive conversation. I am happy about it. There is not a Willian problem. Yes, I do (think he will stay). Very confident.”
